Assembly & Placement

Where can the Infrared sauna be assembled for use?

The Golden Designs infrared sauna products are designed for indoor use in various locations such as homes or offices. They can be assembled in spaces like garages, basements, bedrooms, or bathrooms. These saunas are compatible with most common flooring types, including concrete, tile, wood, and carpet. Regardless of your choice of where to assemble, the Infrared sauna just needs to be indoors.

How long does it take to set up and assemble a sauna?

On average, assembling the infrared sauna products takes approximately one hour for two adults. The required tools typically include a flat-head screwdriver, a Phillips-head screwdriver, and a ladder.

Product Features & Technology

What is the difference between Low EMF and Near Zero EMF?

The Golden Designs Saunas' products are designed to operate with low electromagnetic field (EMF) emissions. Near Zero EMF carbon heater panels typically measure below 3 milligauss (mG) at a distance of approximately 2 inches. Low EMF near-infrared (NIR) heater elements generally range between 5 mG and 10 mG at the same distance.

What is a Full Spectrum Infrared?

Full Spectrum Infrared includes Near, Mid, and Far infrared wavelengths, each offering varying levels of heat penetration. These wavelengths work at different depths—from the surface of the skin to deeper tissue levels—providing a comprehensive infrared sauna experience that supports relaxation and overall wellness.

What is a hybrid sauna?

A hybrid sauna combines traditional and infrared heating technologies in a single unit. Infrared heaters offer the benefits associated with deep, penetrating heat, while the traditional stove heater provides the high-temperature environment typical of a classic sauna. This setup gives users the flexibility to choose their preferred type of heat experience.

Energy Use & Efficiency

How much does it cost to operate an infrared sauna?

Infrared saunas are generally cost-efficient to operate, as they do not require a continuous flow of energy once the set temperature is reached. Operating a 1- or 2-person model for approximately one hour per day over a 30-day period typically results in an average utility cost of $40 to $80 per month, depending on local energy rates.

Are Infrared saunas energy efficient?

Being energy efficient means using less energy to deliver the same level of service. In the context of sauna design and function, features such as double-panel wall construction help retain heat more effectively, reducing the amount of energy needed to maintain the desired temperature. Additionally, once the set temperature is reached, minimal ongoing energy input is required, further contributing to lower overall energy consumption.

Safety

Is Infrared heat safe?

Infrared heat is generally considered safe and has been used in various wellness and therapeutic settings for decades. Far infrared technology is commonly found in medical and rehabilitation environments, including physical therapy and pain management clinics. Infrared saunas have also gained popularity in the health and wellness industry for their potential to support relaxation and overall well-being.

Are Golden Designs infrared saunas certified?

Yes. The Golden Designs sauna products are ETL certified, indicating they meet North American safety standards. Each unit undergoes thorough testing and quality control to ensure compliance with established safety requirements.
